In the United States, there are 57 facilities designated by the National Cancer Institute to be Comprehensive Cancer Centers. More information about those centers can be found HERE.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The cold, hard truth is that some of those Comprehensive Cancer Centers achieve that distinction because of their focus on cancer overall … not specifically children’s cancer. Simply put: not all Comprehensive Cancer Centers offer comprehensive care for children’s cancer.
Therefore, it is important to confirm if a specific center actually excels at treating children's cancer -- and more specifically the cancer your child is facing.. Each year, US News & World Report publishes rankings of the Best Children's Hospitals for Cancer in the country.
Cancer families might find it useful to cross-reference the US News & World Report list with the list of Comprehensive Cancer Centers to identify a treatment facility for their child.
