Advocacy

Would you rather spend money trying to add 5 years to the life of an 80-year-old ... or 80 years to the life of a 5-year-old?

At the Children's Cancer Alliance, the choice is clear.

The fact that just 4% of federal cancer research funding is dedicated to pediatric cancer means we -- as a society -- are failing our children.

The goal of the Children's Cancer Alliance is to see that 4% increased to 18%. We actually think our kids are worth MORE, but 18% would be a great start because each percentage point represents each year a child must live before they can unlock the full benefits of adult cancer research funding.

Approximately 22% of the US population is under age 18, so the Children's Cancer Alliance communicates with policymakers and health care administrators to advocate on behalf of children who can't advocate -- or vote -- for themselves.
