Referring primary care physicians
and specialists are encouraged to participate in our multidisciplinary
team for planning and management. Diagnosis, treatment planning,
and most clinical services are provided at our center and include:

· Oncology diagnosis and management · Thalassemia program · Hemophilia program · Sickle cell program · Immune deficiency syndrome · “Bloodless*” medicine and surgery · Specialized program for adolescents and young adults with cancer · Psychosocial support services · Coordination of referrals of complex tertiary cases to Children’s Hospital |
| * "Bloodless" means medical or surgical treatment without the use of
banked (stored), allogeneic blood or blood products. Blood loss often
occurs during surgery. A bloodless program endeavors to minimize
blood loss by utilizing special blood conservation methods.
Inpatient Services Inpatient Pediatric Hematology and
Oncology services, including in-house consults, are available 24 hours
a day. Specialized services include:
